Challenge:
Sanghar is a city in Sindh, Pakistan, and its surrounding area is mostly semi-arid. Many residents of Sanghar are unable to access quality health care. In addition, many of the hospitals in the area are overburdened. As a result, the people of this area suffer from many diseases, including heatstroke, hypertension, diabetes, hepatitis, and gastrointestinal problems.
Our Solution:
Since access to quality health care is a human right, Transparent Hands plans to set up a free medical camp for underprivileged patients in Sanghar. Deserving patients will receive free consultations, diagnostic tests, and medicines. In addition, Transparent Hands will register deserving patients that require surgeries or medical procedures. Transparent Hands successfully organized a free medical camp ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare to impoverished patients. It took place at Rest House Jam Nawaz Ali, Taluka Jam Nawaz Ali, District Sanghar, Sindh on November 8, 2023. Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests During the Sanghar medical camp, 529 deserving patients received free consultations from expert doctors. They were also provided with free medicines, diabetes tests, screenings for hepatitis B & C, Malaria, cholesterol checks, and blood pressure monitoring. Diseases and Treatments Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from fever, cough, flu, earache, toothache, seasonal allergies, scabies, skin rashes, diabetes, high blood pressure, diarrhea, gastric problems, body weakness, body pain, and hepatitis B and C. Impact The free medical camp held in Sanghar, Sindh had a profound impact on the lives of 529 deserving patients and their families. It provided them with access to much-needed healthcare services that they may not have been able to afford otherwise. The camp addressed various health concerns by offering free consultations with expert doctors, providing essential medicines, conducting diabetes tests, screenings for hepatitis B & C and malaria, cholesterol checks, and blood pressure monitoring. This initiative not only improved the immediate health outcomes of the patients but also brought hope and relief to their families. By delivering quality healthcare services directly to their doorstep, the medical camp alleviated the burden of healthcare expenses and ensured that these marginalized individuals received the attention and care they deserved.
