Challenges

Sheikhupura is a district located in the Punjab province. Even though Sheikhupura has a rich cultural history and fertile land, many rural areas face serious health problems due to air and groundwater pollution. The limited access to healthcare facilities and resources has resulted in a high burden of disease, particularly among vulnerable and marginalized populations. The health facilities are often inadequate and under-resourced, making it difficult for residents to receive the care they need. Many people must travel long distances to reach the nearest hospital, and even then, the quality of care they receive may not be up to standard. This has led to a high incidence of preventable diseases, such as chest infection, tuberculosis, hepatitis, malaria, dengue fever, diabetes, and cardiovascular, skin, and respiratory diseases.

Our Solution

Transparent Hands plans to arrange a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Javed Nagar, on respiratory infections and skin diseases for residents of Sheikhupura. We believe it’s important for people to learn about the signs, symptoms, and diagnosis of a wide range of health issues through awareness sessions like these. It encourages people to adopt healthy habits that will help them maintain good health throughout their lives. Our doctors and specialists will be available for free consultations, medication, and the aforementioned diagnostic tests during these medical camps. The patients who need surgeries or other medical treatment will be registered with Transparent Hands and referred to one of our panel hospitals.

Hundreds of deserving patients are in desperate need of your help and would be very grateful for any donation you can make to this worthwhile cause. Because of you, we are able to offer free and high-quality medical care to those who need it most. It is clear that the rural parts of Sheikhupura need better healthcare facilities and medicines. With your support, we can work towards providing the care and resources these communities need to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

Transparent Hands recently set up a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to facilitate hundreds of deserving patients from this underprivileged area. The free medical camp was held at Umm-e-Habiba Model High School, Sheikhupura, on February 26, 2023.
