Matiari is a city located in Sindh, Pakistan. It is 30 km (19 mi) north of Hyderabad on the N-5 National Highway. According to a 2016 estimate, Matiari has an estimated population of 795,147 individuals. It is an underdeveloped district. With a lack of road infrastructure, basic healthcare facilities, provision of healthy food, and clean drinking water, the people of Matiari district suffer from a range of health problems such as skin diseases, cholera, diarrhea, gastrointestinal infections, respiratory illness, diabetes, hypertension, and acute malnutrition. They are in urgent need of healthcare services, so our medical camp will improve their lives by providing them with timely care and medical attention.
Our Solution
The mission of Transparent Hands is to bridge the gap that exists between underprivileged people and high-quality medical care. We aim to reach out to communities that need better health care but can’t get it. Transparent Hands hopes to meet the healthcare needs of hundreds of people by setting up a free medical camp in Matiari. Our team also plans to arrange a preventive healthcare session on cholera and its prevention for the residents. We believe that sessions like these help people learn about the signs, symptoms, and diagnoses of various health conditions. At the medical camp, patients will also receive free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic tests. Transparent Hands registers deserving patients who require surgeries and medical procedures. Transparent Hands recently hosted a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to enhance healthcare access for marginalized communities. The free medical camp was held at Village Moledino, Hajan Mehran Highway, Saeedabad, district Matiari, Sindh, on 27th April 2023.
Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests
Our medical team, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, provided various healthcare services to 360 deserving patients. Services offered at the camp were:

Diseases and Treatments
Most of the patients who sought consultation suffered from fever, cough, flu, ear infection, nose bleeding, seasonal allergies, chest infection, asthma, diabetes, diarrhea, gastric trouble, migraine, hypertension, kidney pain, and body weakness. Free medicines were also given to a large number of deserving patients. A total of 38 lab tests were conducted at the camp. Around 3% of the tested patients had hepatitis C and 2% had hepatitis B.
Preventive Healthcare Session
An expert doctor conducted a preventive healthcare session for the attendees. The session emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and its impact on overall health. The doctors discussed the potential health risks associated with poor personal hygiene and provided attendees with information on how to improve their hygiene practices to prevent such issues. The session aimed to increase awareness among attendees regarding the importance of personal hygiene and promote healthier practices.
Impact
The free medical camp held in Matiari, Sindh, was a major success, providing essential health services to 360 deserving patients and their families.
