Congenital Heart Disease is on the rise in Umerkot, particularly among men. Carrying out agricultural activities is challenging due to the high heat and scarcity of water. As a result, malnutrition is a major illness in this region. The disadvantaged find it difficult to access quality medical care in Umerkot. Local hospitals are often overburdened and many people suffer from treatable diseases.

Transparent Hands recently organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session, held on November 9, 2023, at Village Walhar, Oad UC Kharoro, Taluka, Umerkot, Sindh. The heartfelt mission behind this medical camp was to bring a ray of hope to deserving patients, ensuring that they could receive the highest quality healthcare without any barriers.
Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests
During the free medical camp in Umerkot, 660 deserving patients received free consultations with expert doctors. They were also provided with free medicines, diabetes tests, hepatitis B and C screenings, malaria and cholesterol check-ups, as well as blood pressure check-ups. Additionally, 49 diagnostic tests were conducted and provided at no cost to the patients.
Diseases and Treatments
Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from fever, sore throat, chest congestion, cough, earache, toothache, migraine, kidney pain, diabetes, abdominal pain, diarrhea, High BP, body weakness, scabies, skin rashes, constipation, urine infection, and anemia.
