Let’s Ensure Access to Quality Healthcare in Thatta

Transparent Hands has been working to bridge the gaps in access to healthcare in Pakistan since 2014. Through our free medical camps, we have reached numerous patients who could not afford even the most basic healthcare services. We are also extending free preventive healthcare services to Thatta—a historic city located in Sindh. Thatta faces major healthcare challenges. Many low-income families struggle to access timely and quality medical care.
Challenges
The residents of Thatta suffer from a lack of adequate health facilities. A large number of people cannot afford private hospitals, while public facilities are often overburdened or too distant. This situation has led to various diseases among the residents.
According to a report by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), communicable diseases accounted for the highest prevalence of diseases at 20.7%, followed by non-communicable diseases at 4.8%. Gastrointestinal disorders made up 4.4% of the reported cases, while injuries and disabilities were observed in 1.9% of the population. The report also highlighted that urban populations experienced higher rates of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (3.34%) and Diabetes (1.62%) than rural ones.
Solution
To address these growing healthcare needs, Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp in Thatta. Our goal is to provide comprehensive medical services to underprivileged individuals. This initiative aligns with our ongoing commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being. Our team of qualified doctors, nurses, and volunteers will deliver the following essential services:
• General Check-Ups
• Gynecology Check-Ups
• Blood Pressure Check-Ups
• Hepatitis B & C Screenings
• Ultrasound Scans
• Cholesterol Tests
• Uric Acid Tests
• BSR (Blood Sugar) Tests
• Preventive Healthcare Session
• Deserving Surgical/Medical procedure cases will be registered
Preventive Healthcare Session
Alongside medical services, a preventive healthcare session will be conducted to educate the local population on managing one of the prevalent health issues. By raising awareness, we aim to promote healthier living habits within the community.
You Can Make an Impact
The people of Thatta need your kindness and generosity. Your donations will ensure that no one is left behind in accessing medical care due to poverty. Together, we can make a lasting impact by bringing hope and healing to numerous lives.
