Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp in Chitral to deliver essential healthcare services to underserved communities in Tirich Mir, Chitral. It is a mountainous region of Pakistan and is known for its natural beauty and cultural richness. However, due to its remote location, access to basic medical facilities is a major challenge for the residents. By organizing this medical camp, we aim to provide Chitral’s residents with necessary healthcare services, including consultations, lab tests, ultrasound scans as well as medicines.

Challenges
In Chitral, hospitals and clinics are often situated far from local villages. Moreover, limited transportation options make it extremely difficult for patients, especially women, children, and the elderly, to reach them in time.
The public healthcare system often faces issues like a shortage of medical professionals and inadequate diagnostic facilities. These conditions have contributed to delays in diagnosis and treatments. Due to contaminated water resources, the residents of Chitral are at high risk of developing waterborne diseases. Moreover, chickenpox, typhoid, and fungal diseases are also prevalent in the region.

The upcoming camp in Chitral will be a vital initiative to serve patients who otherwise have little or no access to medical attention. Transparent Hands, with the support of PPAF (Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund), HEADS (Health Education And Development Society) and other Donors, organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session at Union Council Terich, Upper Chitral, KPK on May 7, 2025. Through this camp, we provided essential medical support to underserved communities in Terich Mir, Chitral.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests:

A total of 256 deserving patients received free consultations from our expert doctors. Along with medical consultations, the patients were provided with free medicines and underwent various diagnostic tests, including:

In addition to the medical services, one of our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session to educate the attendees about Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).

This free medical camp had a significant impact on the lives of 256 deserving patients and their families. Terich Mir is an underdeveloped area, where many people are unable to access timely medical interventions. Resultantly, their minor health issues worsened. This medical camp became a source of hope for them and improved their quality of life. Moreover, a preventive healthcare session equipped residents with knowledge to uplift their lives and protect themselves from illnesses. This medical camp was also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
