Transparent Hands is organizing a free health camp and preventive healthcare session to extend medical support to the underprivileged community residing in Islamabad. Our medical team, comprising doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, will deliver an extensive range of free healthcare services to deserving patients.

Challenges

In Islamabad, common health problems include respiratory infections, waterborne diseases, non-communicable diseases like cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, and vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria fever. These challenges can be addressed through improving hygiene practices, ensuring access to clean water and sanitation, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

The healthcare camp in Islamabad is dedicated to addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the underserved community. Its primary objective is to provide immediate medical assistance, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals who lack regular access to healthcare facilities. In addition to general medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, and immunizations, the camp will also prioritize raising awareness about preventive measures and promoting hygiene practices. By bringing healthcare services directly to the community, the camp aims to overcome barriers of distance and accessibility. Patients requiring surgeries or other treatments will be registered with Transparent Hands and referred to panel hospitals. Transparent Hands recently organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session with the aim of providing high-quality healthcare services to underprivileged patients. The medical camp took place on November 8, 2023, at NIMS Institute, located on Lehtrar Road, Ghauri Garden in Islamabad.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

A total of  262 deserving patients were provided with free medicines. A team of expert doctors also conducted diabetes tests, screenings for hepatitis B and C, and assessments for Malaria, Cholesterol, and blood pressure. These services were made available without any cost to the patients. A total of 135 diagnostic tests were also conducted. 

Diseases and Treatments

The majority of patients seeking consultation at the medical camp had various common ailments such as fever, cough, flu, chest infection, toothache, earache, scabies, diarrhea, diabetes, urine infection, stomach ulcers, insomnia, body weakness, and pain.

One of our expert doctors conducted a preventive healthcare session, emphasizing the prevention and management of UTIs. The session provided attendees with valuable knowledge and strategies to effectively prevent and address urinary tract infections.
