Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp in Khudian Khas, Kasur. In this medical camp, our team of dedicated doctors and specialists will provide the following facilities to 450+ deserving patients:

Challenge:
In Kasur, most of the population is living in underdeveloped areas with no access to the basic necessities of life. These people are exposed to polluted air and contaminated water on a daily basis, and there is only a limited number of hospitals to treat them. Most people residing in the area are not aware of the prevalent health issues and their consequences. As a result, respiratory diseases, heart diseases, skin conditions, poor kidney conditions, flu, tuberculosis, and cholera are prevalent there. The hospitals in Kasur are understaffed and overburdened with patients in need of medical care. Many people are even suffering from conditions that require surgical intervention, but they have nowhere to go.

Transparent Hands held a free medical camp at Village Bazeedpur Union Council (33), Ganda Singh Wala, Kasur, on February 19, 2022. It was organized and managed by Transparent Hands with the vision to bring quality health care to patients belonging to underprivileged communities.
Free consultations and diagnostic tests
A total of 444 deserving patients received free consultations. Medicines, eye checkups, hepatitis B & C tests, blood sugar tests, and blood pressure tests were also provided free of charge. Depending on their eligibility, some of these patients will be registered by Transparent Hands for further surgical or medical treatments.
Eye checkups by Life Foundation
The team of Life Foundation provided free eye checkups at the medical camp. Besides checking eyesight, eye conditions and diseases like cataracts were also diagnosed. Many deserving patients received free eyeglasses.
Medical camp team
The medical camp team consisted of 19 members, including a supervisor, six doctors (two females and four males), a female nurse, two pharmacists, a photographer, and eight crew workers.
Session on diabetes by Chughtai Lab and COVID SOPs
An awareness session on diabetes was also held during the medical camp by the team of Chughtai Lab for the patients and attendees. Besides this, we provided free blood sugar tests to deserving patients. All COVID SOPs such as wearing face masks, hand sanitization, and social distancing were followed at the medical camp. In addition, the patients received face masks and hand sanitizers free of charge.
Diseases and treatments
Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from cataracts, eye problems, flu, cough, fever, diabetes, pains, hypertension, gastric problems, and allergies. Free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients. The team diagnosed two patients with Hepatitis C.
Impact
The free medical camp made a difference in the lives of more than 440 patients and their families. In 2022, Transparent Hands aims to arrange 100 free medical camps across Pakistan. Thousands of donors are supporting Transparent Hands’ mission to bring quality health care to even more underprivileged and remote areas of the country.
