Challenge
Situated in Punjab, Pakistan, Chakwal is renowned for its traditional weaving and shoes. The residents of Chakwal suffer from many diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, and gastrointestinal problems because they are unable to access quality health care. In addition, the underprivileged and impoverished residents of this area cannot pay for their treatments due to financial constraints. Many of the local hospitals in the area are overburdened.
Our Solution
Transparent Hands aims to fill the gaps in Chakwal’s healthcare facilities by setting up a free medical camp. Join hands with us to bring quality health care to the people of Chakwal. Free consultations, diagnostic procedures, and medications will be provided to patients from underserved and vulnerable neighborhoods. Transparent Hands recently organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to make quality healthcare available to poor patients. The free medical camp was held in Village Khuian, Tehsil Talagang, Chakwal, on July 17, 2022. Ittihad Welfare Society Khuian participated in the medical camp.
Free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic tests
A total of 325 patients belonging to underprivileged communities received free consultations by expert doctors. Medicines, diabetes tests, hepatitis B & C screenings, uric acid tests, and blood pressure check-ups were also provided free of charge.
Preventive healthcare session on personal hygiene
Our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session for the attendees at the free medical camp in Talagang. The session focused on personal hygiene. The doctors discussed the importance of washing hands before eating, oral hygiene, and how cleanliness can help us avoid many diseases.
Diseases and treatments
Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from gastrointestinal problems and anemia. Free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients.
Impact

The medical camp team consisted of 16 members, including a supervisor, three doctors (one female and two males), two pharmacists, a lab technician, two patient registrars, a photographer, and six crew workers.
