Challenges
Lodhran is located in the southern region of Punjab, Pakistan. This area requires increased healthcare services due to its high population density and limited access to quality healthcare facilities. The main health-related issues in Lodhran include the high prevalence of infectious diseases and the limited availability of healthcare professionals. These challenges contribute to a higher burden of preventable illnesses, maternal and child health issues, and overall compromised well-being within the community. The need for comprehensive healthcare services is crucial to address these pressing health issues and improve the quality of life for the residents of Lodhran.
Our Solution
Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Lodhran to address the health challenges faced by the underserved population. Our primary goal is to provide immediate medical assistance, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals who lack regular access to healthcare facilities. The camp will offer a comprehensive range of services, including general check-ups, diagnostic tests, and the provision of vital medicines. Moreover, our dedicated doctors will actively raise awareness about preventive measures, hygiene practices, and the significance of proper nutrition to combat malnutrition and reduce the risk of communicable diseases. By bringing healthcare services directly to the community, we aim to overcome the barriers of distance and accessibility. Patients in need of surgeries or other medical interventions will be registered with one of our panel hospitals. Your charitable contribution to this noble cause can make a profound difference in the lives of countless deserving patients in the area.
In an effort to provide quality healthcare to underprivileged individuals, Transparent Hands organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session. This took place in the impoverished region of Alipur Kanju, Lodhran, on October 28, 2023.
Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests
A total number of 260 deserving patients were able to benefit from free consultations with skilled doctors. Furthermore, they were provided with free medicines, diabetes tests, uric acid tests, hepatitis B and C screenings, ultrasounds, cholesterol, and blood pressure check-ups. Additionally, a total of 142 diagnostic tests were also conducted.
Diseases and Treatments
Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from fever, flu, cough, sore throat, chest infection, abdominal pain, diarrhea, diabetes, seasonal allergies, scabies, kidney pain, anemia, body pain, and general weaknesses. There was one surgical case was registered.
Preventive Healthcare Session
One of our expert doctors conducted a preventive healthcare session focusing on diabetes prevention and management for the attendees.
Impact
The free medical camp and preventive healthcare session organized by Transparent Hands in Alipur Kanju had a profound impact on the lives of 260 deserving patients and their families. The medical camp team consisted of 13 members, including one supervisor, four doctors (two male and two females), one lab technician, one pharmacist, three patient registrars /crew members, one volunteer, one staff nurse, and one photographer.
