Transparent Hands plans to organize a free medical camp at ZEST High School, Korangi Town, Karachi, on July 21, 2023. In this medical camp, our team of expert doctors and physicians will provide the following health facilities to deserving patients:

  • Blood Sugar Test
  • Blood Pressure Checkup
  • Uric Acid and Cholesterol Tests
  • Free Registration of Deserving Cases for Surgeries and Medical Procedures

Challenges

In Korangi Town, common health problems include respiratory issues, waterborne diseases, malnutrition, skin infections, and hypertension/diabetes. So, our upcoming free medical camp will help in providing early detection and treatment, offering access to medical services for those who cannot afford regular healthcare. Our medical camps play a crucial role in improving community health by addressing immediate concerns and promoting better well-being through the provision of medical services and preventive healthcare sessions. 

Our Solution 

The mission of Transparent Hands is to uphold everyone’s fundamental right to healthcare. Our goal is to help the vulnerable residents of Korangi, who do not have enough money or resources to get good medical care. In addition to providing medical assistance, our healthcare professionals will educate residents on the importance of living a healthy and hygienic lifestyle and provide tips for disease prevention. 

We have a nationwide panel of hospitals, and we will also refer patients if they need surgery or specialized treatment at one of those hospitals. With an unwavering commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to the people of Korangi, Karachi, we humbly request your generous assistance in achieving this vital objective. 


Transparent Hands, in collaboration with NGO World,  recently held a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to make quality healthcare available to impoverished patients. The free medical camp was held at ZEST Model High School, Sector 50-C, District Korangi, Karachi, Sindh, on July 21st, 2023. 

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

A total of 493 deserving patients received free consultations from qualified doctors during the free medical camp. The patients also received free medicines in addition to consultations. They underwent crucial examinations and screenings for conditions like diabetes, malaria, hepatitis B and C, and uric acid, as well as tests for blood pressure and cholesterol. The patients received all of these services free of charge, ensuring their access to essential medical care and basic facilities. 

Diseases and Treatments

Most of the patients who sought consultation suffered from fever, flu, cough, skin infections, eye/ear infections, nausea, body or joint pain, knee pain, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, gastric problems, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and malnutrition. A total of 89 lab tests were also conducted during the medical camp.

Preventive Healthcare Session 

The session on malaria proved to be highly informative and enriching for all attendees, as they received valuable knowledge from an expert doctor. Through this expert guidance, they gained a deeper understanding of the disease, its prevention, and treatment methods, empowering them to make more informed decisions and contribute effectively to the fight against malaria.

Impact

Transparent Hands organized a free medical camp that left a profound impact on 493 deserving patients and their families. These individuals, who were deprived of adequate medical care, received vital health services and support during the camp. The committed medical team worked tirelessly, delivering personalized diagnoses, treatments, and screenings to identify potential health risks. This free medical camp has significantly enhanced healthcare accessibility and continues to bring positive change to underserved communities in Pakistan.

Medical Camp Team

The medical camp team of Korangi consisted of 16 members, including two supervisors, three doctors (two females and one male), one nurse, two lab technicians, three pharmacists, four patient registrars, and one photographer. Rameeza Mueen (CEO-Transparent Hands) and Raheel Abbass (Director of Operations) visited the medical camp and supervised camp activities to motivate the team.
