Challenges
Dadu is a district in the Sindh province. The slum areas of district Dadu abound with various diseases such as measles, cough, malaria, diarrhea, bronchitis, tuberculosis, and skin ailments. The number of patients is on the rise owing to the poor health system. The health facilities provided by the government are not sufficient to provide quality healthcare to the locals.
Our Solution
Transparent Hands aims to bridge this gap between the underprivileged and the provision of quality healthcare. There is a need to reach out to those who do not have access to better healthcare. Through this medical camp, Transparent Hands aims to cater to the healthcare needs of hundreds of people and their families in Dadu. The doctor will also provide a preventive healthcare session on cholera and its prevention. The aim is to also create awareness among the common masses regarding the most prevalent health issues and ways of avoiding or treating them. At the medical camp, patients will receive free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic tests. Transparent Hands registers deserving patients who require surgeries and medical procedures. In an effort to provide quality healthcare to underprivileged patients, Transparent Hands organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Rajo Dero Goth, Kehar Shah Mast, Tehsil Johi, District Dadu, Sindh.

A total of 402 deserving patients received free consultations from expert doctors. Services offered at the camp were:

Diseases and Treatments
Most patients who sought consultation suffered from flu, fever, cough, chest infection, asthma, seasonal allergies, diarrhea, diabetes, body pain, hypertension, gastric problems, diarrhea, watery eyes, anemia, measles, UTI, backache, hepatitis B and C. It highlighted the urgent need for accessible and affordable healthcare in impoverished communities. The prevalence of these diseases in such areas was attributed to poor living conditions and limited access to medical facilities. Transparent Hands' efforts to set up the free medical camp were a step toward closing this healthcare gap and improving the health of the local community.
Preventive Healthcare Session
A doctor held a preventive healthcare session for all attendees at the medical camp. The doctor briefed the attendees to raise awareness about the importance of personal hygiene practices. The doctor emphasized the significance of hand washing, keeping oneself and surroundings clean, and maintaining good oral hygiene to prevent the spread of diseases.
Impact
The free medical camp held in Johi, Dadu, was an important intervention in addressing the healthcare needs of the area's underprivileged population.
