Challenges:

Nankana Sahib lies to the west of Lahore. It is a city named after Guru Nanak who is the first Guru of the Sikhs. Nankana Sahib, being the most important religious site for the Sikh’s hosts a population of more than one million people. Approximately more than 80 percent of the population resides in rural settlements. Mohalla Qasaian, previously known as ‘purana’ or old Nankana Sahib mainly hosts underprivileged individuals and families and sadly remains neglected in terms of health care facilities. Moreover, the pandemic has added another dimension to the pre-existing challenges of the region. Under normal circumstances due to the provision of limited health care facilities, usually most diseases go unnoticed and therefore remain untreated. Presently, a saturation of patients at public hospitals is leaving non-COVID patients devoid of basic health care facilities. Poor living standards result in adverse effects on the general health and wellbeing of the residents, causing numerous illnesses, such as eye, nose, and throat infections, Hepatitis, Diabetes, and Hypertension. Over time, the mentioned illnesses are liable to become acute. Currently, due to increasing cases of COVID-19, the public health sector remains burdened to its maximum capacity. Hence, the residents are facing increased challenges in terms of having access to basic health care.

Our Solution:

Transparent Hands looks forward to organizing a one-day medical camp at Mohalla Qasaian, Nankana Sahib, to provide free consultation and medicines to underprivileged patients. Critical cases including patients who require medical and surgical assistance will be registered with Transparent Hands for free treatment. Team Transparent Hands is determined in bringing quality healthcare facilities to the residents of Mohalla Qasaian.
