Since birth, Husnain Ali had an abnormal passage of urine. Moreover, he was missing the left testicle from the scrotum. These deformations are characterized as Penoscrotal Hypospadias and Lt. Retractile Testis. In penoscrotal hypospadias, the opening is located where the shaft meets the scrotum. To treat this condition, the doctor has advised Husnain Ali to undergo an Orchidopexy. Orchiopexy is a surgery to move an undescended testicle into the scrotum and permanently fix it there.
Unfortunately, Husnain’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of his surgery. His father is the sole earner of the family. He works as a manual labourer with a construction company and hardly earns PKR 20000 per month. He has six family members dependent on him for their financial needs. In these measly circumstances, he can’t arrange for his son’s surgery. He told us:
“Even if I save for a lifetime, I still won’t be able to save enough money for my son’s surgery. It breaks my heart to see him suffering like that. I wish I had a magic wand that I could just swish, and all his suffering would go away. Unfortunately, life is not that magical for us.”

Husnain Ali's Story
Muhammad Husnain Ali, aged 3 years, had his urethral orifice at an unusual location. On medical consultation, he was diagnosed with an undescended right testicle and penoscrotal hypospadias. The surgeon advised surgical intervention in multiple stages for the correction of these anomalies. For this reason, Husnain was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital and his first surgery, right orchidopexy, was performed by Dr. Sajid Iqbal on 21.05.2021. He stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a stable condition. Husnain’s recovery was swift post-surgery.
