Transgender Community Awaits Free Medical Camp in Islamabad

Transparent Hands intends to help the transgender community in Islamabad, by setting up a free medical camp and delivering a preventive healthcare session. Our medical team, which includes doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, will provide a wide range of free healthcare services to deserving patients. They will be providing the following:

Challenges 

Pakistan’s lack of education and economic opportunities forces transgender people to live outside of mainstream society and make a living by begging, dancing, and doing other immoral acts. Most of them have no access to healthcare facilities and face harassment and ridicule from hospital staff and patients. The trans people living in Islamabad are facing health disparities and barriers to accessing quality healthcare.

Transgender individuals are a high-risk population for mental and physical health problems. Isolation, discrimination, and transphobia can be among the leading causes of suicidal attempts, depression, alcohol abuse, and self-harm among trans people. Our highly trained medical staff will take care of the health needs of the most neglected transgender community in Islamabad at the upcoming camp.  

Our Solution 

Transparent Hands plans to arrange a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session on healthy habits and diets for the transgender community residing in Islamabad. We believe it’s important for the transgender community to learn about effective hygiene practices through awareness sessions like these. It encourages people to adopt healthy habits that will help them maintain their health throughout their lives. During these medical camps, our doctors and specialists will be available for free consultations, medicine, and diagnostic tests that have already been mentioned. The patients who need surgeries or other medical treatment will be registered with Transparent Hands and referred to one of our panel hospitals. Hundreds of trans people are in desperate need of your help and would be very grateful for any donation you can make to this worthwhile cause. Because of you, we will be able to provide free, high-quality medical care to one of the most neglected communities. It is not the first time we had done a free medical camp for the transgender community in Lahore on December 28, 2019, in Shah Noor Sabzazar, and also On 15th July 2019, Transparent Hands conducted a one-day medical camp for the Transgender community in Lahore.
