Nida Bibi's Story

Nida, a 10-year-old girl from Hub Chowki, Balochistan, has been struggling with a painful lump in her right groin. The lump has been growing in size, making it increasingly difficult for her to enjoy her childhood and participate in activities she loves. Her parents noticed her discomfort and took her to a local hospital, where a doctor examined her and conducted lab tests and an ultrasound scan. Nida was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia – a condition in which a portion of the intestine protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. To alleviate her pain and prevent further complications, the doctor advised herniotomy. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s means.

If Nida does not get the surgery, her condition may worsen significantly. The hernia may block the intestine, or be strangulated – cutting off the blood supply to the affected tissue. Both of these complications are medical emergencies that will result in severe pain, tissue death, and even life-threatening outcomes.

Nida lives in a small rented house with her parents and two school-going siblings. Her father works as a daily wage laborer, earning just enough to cover basic expenses. His monthly income of PKR 15,000 is barely sufficient to provide food and pay for the house rent (PKR 5000), utility bills amounting to PKR 2000, and educational expenses of PKR 1000 per month. With no savings or additional resources, arranging money for Nida’s surgery is impossible for them. During this challenging time, Nida’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Nida’s parents expressed their heartfelt emotions as follows:

“We are heartbroken to see our daughter in pain every day. She cannot run or play like other children of her age. We are praying for a miracle that will allow us to afford her surgery and relieve her suffering. Please help us give Nida the chance to live a normal, and pain-free life.”

Nida Bibi's Story

Nida Azizullah, a 10-year-old girl from Hub Chowki, Balochistan, had been suffering from a painful lump in her right groin. Over time, the lump continued to grow, causing her increasing discomfort and limiting her ability to play and enjoy her childhood. Concerned about their daughter’s condition, Nida’s parents took her to a nearby hospital. After a thorough examination, lab tests, and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed her with a right inguinal hernia. Her doctor recommended a herniotomy—a surgical procedure necessary to correct the hernia and prevent future health issues. Unfortunately, her family was unable to pay for her surgery.

Nida lived in a small rented house with her parents and two school-going siblings. Her father worked as a daily wage laborer, and earned just PKR 15,000 per month. This income was insufficient to cover their essentials. Struggling to make ends meet, the family had no way to afford the surgery their daughter desperately needed. During their search for help, Nida’s parents came across Transparent Hands. After hearing their story, we immediately registered her case.

On February 17, 2025, Nida was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. Her herniotomy was successfully performed by Dr. Khair Jan. After proper post-operative care and recovery support, she was discharged in stable condition on February 18, 2025.

Nida’s parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude as follows:

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped our daughter. Watching her in pain broke our hearts, and we felt helpless because we couldn’t afford the surgery. Thanks to your support, she is healthy and smiling again. You have given her a new start, and we will never forget this kindness.”

Nida’s life has taken a joyful turn since her surgery. She is now pain-free, active, and able to enjoy her childhood without discomfort.

Her parents are deeply thankful to you.
