Saman Imtiaz's Story

Saman Imtiaz, a 5-year-old girl from Sargodha, has been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Activities like running, walking or playing leave her exhausted and gasping for breath. Her parents watch her helplessly as Saman is unable to grow like other kids and her skin often turns blue. Worried about her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) – a combination of four congenital heart defects. To enable Saman to breathe normally, the doctor has advised open-heart surgery for total correction. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is overwhelming for her family.

Without this life-saving heart surgery, her condition will worsen. Delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure or even sudden complications that can be fatal.

Saman lives in a small home with her joint family of five members. Her father, the sole provider for the family, is a daily wage laborer and brings in just PKR 25000 per month. With utility bills and food expenses piling up, they are struggling to make ends meet. Saman’s parents feel helpless, knowing that their daughter’s life depends on a surgery they cannot afford. Every passing day fills them with fear and uncertainty, as they desperately search for a way to save their little girl.

Saman’s mother expressed her concerns by saying:

“I cannot bear to see my daughter struggling to breathe. She should be running, playing, and laughing like other children. We request you to be generous and save our daughter’s life.”

Saman Imtiaz's Story

Saman Imtiaz, a 5-year-old girl from Sargodha, had been battling with breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Simple activities like running, walking, or even playing with other children left her gasping for breath. Her growth had been delayed, and her skin often turned blue due to a lack of oxygen. Deeply worried, her parents took her to a local hospital for a thorough check-up. After a series of diagnostic tests, the doctors diagnosed Saman with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)—a complex combination of four congenital heart defects. The only way to restore her health was through open-heart surgery for total correction. However, the high cost of the procedure was completely out of reach for her family.

Saman lives in a small home in Sargodha with her parents and two siblings. Her father, the sole breadwinner, works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 25,000 per month. With this limited income, he struggles to provide food, shelter, and basic necessities for his family. To her family, affording such an expensive surgery seemed impossible. During this time of despair, Saman’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for help. After learning about her condition, we swiftly registered her case.

With your generous support, Saman was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Asim Khan performed her open-heart surgery for TOF correction successfully on April 22, 2025. The procedure went smoothly, and she was closely monitored during her recovery. She was discharged in stable condition on April 29, 2025.

Saman’s father expressed his gratitude as follows: “We had lost hope, and our daughter was suffering every day. Your support changed her life. Watching her run and smile like other children is a dream come true. We will always remember your kindness and the way you helped save our little girl’s life.”

Saman is now recovering. Her family is incredibly thankful to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for making her recovery possible.
