Sadia Naz's Story

Sadia Naz, a 56-year-old woman from Karachi, has been suffering from perianal discharge for the past two years. She also experiences pain, bleeding, and pus, which has affected her ability to perform routine tasks. Recently, she went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed Sadia with Perianal Fistula – an abnormal connection between the anal canal and the skin near the anus. To ease her pain and improve her quality of life, the doctor has advised fistulectomy with a seton. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is out of her financial capacity.

Not undergoing the surgery can lead to worsening of the disease. She may face recurrent infections and potential complications like fecal incontinence. In some cases, untreated fistulas may lead to more severe issues like sepsis, perforation, and even peritonitis.

Sadia is a divorced woman and lives at her brother’s house. Her parents have passed away, and she has no children. Her brother, the sole breadwinner in the family, works at a private firm and makes just PKR 20,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, managing utility bills, groceries, and living expenses of five family members is a significant challenge. At times, they struggle to put food on the table and manage other necessities. During this difficult time, Sadia has reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Sadia expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:

“This pain is affecting me emotionally and physically. Each day, I struggle with discomfort that affects everything I do.  I long for relief and a chance to live without constant worry. I humbly ask for your help to turn my hopes into reality and live without this illness.”

This surgery is necessary for Sadia. It will enable her to live without fear and pain. Only you can provide her with the opportunity to get rid of this illness. We ask you to be generous and contribute for Sadia’s life-changing surgery.

Come forward and be a light during Sadia’s darkest hours.

Sadia Naz's Story

Sadia Naz, a 56-year-old woman from Karachi, had been suffering from an illness for the past two years. She experienced persistent perianal discharge, accompanied by pain, bleeding, and pus formation. These symptoms made everyday tasks extremely difficult and caused her constant discomfort. Despite the severity of her condition, Sadia delayed seeking treatment due to her financial limitations. As time passed, her symptoms worsened, and her quality of life declined. She finally visited a local hospital, where a doctor conducted a thorough examination and diagnosed her with Perianal Fistula - an abnormal passage between the anal canal and the skin near the anus. The doctor recommended a fistulectomy with a seton to eliminate the infection and excise the fistula tract. However, the cost of this necessary surgery was beyond Sadia’s reach.

Sadia is a divorced woman who lives with her brother in a modest home. Her parents have passed away, and she has no children to support her. Her brother is the only earner in the family and works at a private firm, earning just PKR 20,000 per month. His income supports a household of five people and is barely enough to cover the family’s utility bills, groceries, and daily expenses. Affording Sadia’s surgery was an impossible task for them. With no other options left, Sadia turned to Transparent Hands for help. After listening to her concerns, we promptly registered her case.

On May 4, 2025, Sadia was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. Dr. Mariam Azam performed the fistulectomy with a seton placement on May 5, 2025. After proper post-operative care, Sadia was discharged in stable condition on May 6, 2025.

With a grateful heart, Sadia said:

“I am thankful to you for helping me when I had no one else to turn to. The pain was unbearable, and I felt hopeless. Your support brought me comfort, healing, and a new chance to live a normal life.”

Since the surgery, Sadia is free from pain and able to manage her daily tasks with ease. Her health and dignity have been restored. This positive change in her life was only possible because of your generous contributions. Her family is thankful to you for making a valuable difference in Sadia’s life.
