Faiz Ur Rahman's Story

Faiz Ur Rehman, a 36-year-old man from Mardan, has been suffering from severe pain and weakness in his hips for years. His condition has worsened to the point where he can no longer walk without support. Every day tasks, even sitting for extended periods, have become painful and exhausting for him. His left hip is more severely affected than the right. Concerned about his deteriorating condition, Faiz consulted a doctor. After performing an X-ray and some medical tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Bilateral Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the hip joints. It is a condition where the bone tissue dies due to a lack of blood supply, leading to joint destruction. His doctor has advised left-sided Total Hip Replacement surgery to restore his mobility. However, Faiz is facing financial hardships and can’t afford this surgery.

Without this surgery, Faiz’s condition will continue to deteriorate. It may lead to permanent disability, joint collapse, and further bone damage.

Faiz is currently unemployed due to his condition. He lives in a rented house with his family and relies on his young son, who works as a laborer and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. Their monthly expenses include house rent of PKR 7,000, utility bills of PKR 800, and educational expenses of PKR 2,000. On top of that, the family is already burdened with a loan of PKR 700,000, making it impossible to manage the cost of surgery.

Faiz said with teary eyes:

“I never imagined I would experience this level of pain and helplessness. Watching my son work so hard while I struggle to move is heartbreaking. I want to walk without support, earn a living, and live with dignity.”
