Hifsa Fatima's Story

Hifsa Fatima, a 3-year-old girl from Sargodha, has lived in a world of silence since birth. Her parents began noticing that she didn’t respond to their voices or to common sounds, even as she grew into toddlerhood. Concerned and heartbroken, they received medical advice from a doctor at a local hospital. After a thorough diagnostic assessment, the doctor diagnosed her with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL). To enable her to hear, the doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s reach.

The sooner she receives the cochlear implant, the better her chances of speech and language development, which are important at her age. If Hifsa doesn’t undergo the surgery on time, she may not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak.

Hifsa lives in a modest home with her parents and siblings. Her father is a police employee and is the sole breadwinner of the family. Despite his dedication to public service, his meager monthly income barely covers their basic living expenses. The cost of a cochlear implant is far beyond what the family can manage. With utility bills and day-to-day needs constantly pressing on their limited resources, saving for such an expensive procedure is impossible for them.

Hifsa’s mother shared with tearful eyes:

“Every time I call her name and she doesn’t respond, it breaks my heart badly. I want her to hear our voices and to live a life like other children. We just don’t have the means to make that happen on our own. Kindly help us.”

This is a critical moment in Hifsa’s life. The opportunity to hear, learn, and thrive is within reach, but only with your support.

Let’s unite to break the silence that surrounds Hifsa. Through your donations, we can give her the gift of sounds.
