Bait Ul Haram, a 31-year-old woman from Karachi, is over 34 weeks pregnant and approaching the final stage of her pregnancy. With three previous pregnancies, which involved two births through C-section and two miscarriages, she is now preparing to welcome her fourth child. Given her medical history and current condition, her doctor has strongly recommended an elective C-section to ensure a safe delivery for her child. However, the cost of this essential surgical procedure has become a source of immense stress for her family.

Without timely surgical intervention, Bait Ul Haram may face potential complications during childbirth. It may include prolonged labor, fetal distress, and risk to both her and the baby’s life.

Bait Ul Haram’s husband works as a laborer, earning a modest monthly income between PKR 10,000 to 12,000. Despite his hard work, it is extremely difficult to support their two children and the extended family of 12 members. The family lives in a rented house, paying PKR 7,500 per month. Her husband’s brother also contributes, and together, they bring in a combined income of just PKR 31,000. With additional burdens such as utility bills totaling PKR 12,000 and a loan of PKR 200,000 hanging over their heads, they are financially drained. Due to these circumstances, they are unable to afford the cost of the C-section. During this critical time, the family has turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
