Give For Ahmad’s Open-Heart Surgery

Ahmad Ali's Story

Ahmad Ali, a 13-year-old boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, has experienced a life filled with breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. His childhood has been marked by constant fatigue, bluish skin tone, and an inability to keep up with other children. Every day tasks like walking short distances or playing with his friends leave him gasping for air.

Ahmad was initially diagnosed with a complex congenital heart defect in infancy. After undergoing several diagnostic evaluations recently, the doctor diagnosed him with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Univentricular Heart (UVH), and Pulmonary Stenosis (PS). These conditions severely restrict the flow of oxygenated blood to his body, leaving him weak and vulnerable to complications. To improve his condition, his cardiologist has advised CP Shunt – a type of open-heart surgery. However, Ahmad’s family can’t afford his surgery. 

Without it, his condition may continue to deteriorate and may lead to irreversible heart damage or life-threatening complications.

Ahmad’s father lives separately, and he now lives with his uncle’s family in a modest home. His uncle, a laborer, is the only earning member of the seven-person household. With a limited income, the family barely manages to cover utility bills of PKR 1,000 and educational expenses of PKR 1,500. The cost of Ahmad’s life-saving surgery is far beyond their reach. During this time of great distress, Ahmad’s family has turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Ahmad’s uncle shared his concerns as follows:

“He’s a brave boy, but each day is a struggle for him. I’ve done my best to provide for him, but I can’t manage this surgery cost alone. Please help us save Ahmad’s life and give him a chance to live normally.”
