You Repaired Ghulam Nabi’s Heart Defects

Ghulam Nabi's Story

Ghulam Nabi, a 6-year-old boy from Sargodha, had faced serious health struggles since birth. Even mild to moderate activity left him exhausted, and his tiny chest struggled to draw in air. While playing with his friends, his skin and lips turned a frightening shade of blue. Worried, Ghulam Nabi’s parents took him to a local hospital. After conducting a thorough examination and necessary diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Ghulam Nabi with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) along with Mild Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). These are congenital heart defects that prevent his heart from pumping oxygen-rich blood efficiently.

The doctor advised Ghulam Nabi to undergo VSD closure and RVOT resection to correct these defects. However, the cost of this essential surgery was far beyond his family’s financial means. Ghulam Nabi’s father works as a laborer and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. With six family members relying on this modest income, managing day-to-day expenses is already a struggle. It leaves nothing to save for such an expensive procedure.
With hope in their hearts, Ghulam Nabi’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for help. Moved by their plea, we registered his case. The generosity of our donors enabled us to provide Ghulam Nabi with much-needed cardiac surgery.

On June 15, 2025, Ghulam Nabi was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. His surgery was scheduled for June 17, 2025. Dr. Salman Shah successfully performed his surgery and corrected the defects in his heart. After receiving post-operative care, he was discharged in good health on June 20, 2025.

Ghulam Nabi’s parents expressed their happiness as follows:
