Fiza Jan's Story

Fiza Jan, a 16-year-old girl from Karachi, is approaching one of the most important moments of her life – welcoming her first baby into the world. During her routine checkups, the doctor discovered that her baby is in a breech position, meaning the baby’s feet are positioned to come out first. This makes a normal delivery very risky for both the mother and child. Concerned for their safety, the doctor has advised Fiza to undergo a C-section.

Without this essential procedure, she may face serious complications during labor, such as fetal distress or even life-threatening emergencies that may harm her or her baby. A timely C-section is the only way to ensure a safe delivery and protect both lives.

Fiza lives with her husband in a joint family system. Her husband works as a fireman in a private company and earns PKR 35,000 each month. Though he works hard, this income stretches to support the entire family’s needs, including their parents and younger siblings. They pay around PKR 5,000 every month on utility bills, and the remaining amount is used for groceries, daily expenses, and any medical needs that arise. This leaves them with very little to spare. Due to these financial challenges, they simply cannot afford the cost of Fiza’s C-section on their own. The thought of not being able to undergo the safe C-section leaves her in despair.

With tears in her eyes, Fiza said:

“This is my first child, and I want to bring my baby into this world safely. Without your help, I fear what would happen. My husband works hard, but his income is insufficient to even cover our basic needs. We need your support.”
