Abdul Manan, aged 4.5 years, a resident of Khushab, has been suffering from hearing loss since his birth. This disability remained unknown to his parents till one year when they realized there was some problem with his hearing ability as he was not responding to any voices or sounds. His parents took him to a doctor. After running several tests, the ENT specialist diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. Abdul Manan was advised to get a cochlear implant. A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted neuroprosthetic device that will give Abdul Manan a modified sense of sound.

Unfortunately, Abdul Manan’s father cannot pay the hefty cost for his surgery. His father is a tutor and earns PKR. 15,000 per month. With this income, he can’t pay for his son’s surgery. Abdul Manan’s father told us:

“I am a tutor. I have a very low income. I cannot afford the cost of my son’s surgery. I have all my hopes in Transparent Hands now. Please help me get my son’s surgery done.”

Four-year-old Abdul Manan, a resident of Khushab, was born with the inability to hear. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with Sensorineural Hearing loss. The doctor advised him to undergo Cochlear Implant surgery to acquire the sense of hearing. Therefore, Abdul Manan was sent to National Hospital and Medical Center to get his cochlear implant surgery done by Dr. Naveed Aslam on 19-02-2022. His surgery was successful and he was discharged a day after the operation. Abdul Manan has been asked to return for a follow-up visit after six weeks to get his external device fixed. He looks forward to a bright future.
