Abdul Waheed's Story

Abdul Waheed, a 60-year-old man from Lahore, has been experiencing abdominal pain and swelling for the past two months. His daily activities have been affected by his illness, making it hard for him to sleep at night. Despite receiving symptomatic treatment, he couldn’t find relief. Finally, he consulted a specialist at a nearby hospital. After a series of tests and examinations, the doctor diagnosed Abdul Waheed with Sealed Intestinal Perforation – a condition characterized by a hole in the bowel wall which later on sealed by itself leaving unresolved contents in abdominal cavity. His doctor has advised exploratory laparotomy with lavage and drainage to investigate and potentially treat underlying issues. However, the cost of the treatment is out of his financial capacity.

If Abdul Waheed doesn’t receive timely medical intervention, his condition will become worse. He may face a high risk of peritonitis, sepsis, and potentially death due to the spread of infection and damage to vital organs.

Abdul Waheed lives in a modest home with his wife and four children. He is a salesman in a garments shop and earns just PKR 40,000 per month. Despite his illness, Abdul Waheed works hard to provide for his family. However, his underlying condition often drains him physically, and he struggles to even sit properly. His monthly income is insufficient to cover their utility bills amounting to PKR 15,000, food, and other necessities. Due to their financial constraints, affording to pay for his surgery is impossible for them. During their search for help, they found Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Abdul Waheed said in despair:

“This pain is unbearable, and I’m tired of this illness. Every day, I pray for my recovery but my financial limitations are a great obstacle. I don’t have any option other than to seek help from you. I request you to help me in receiving the treatment so I can have a healthy and pain-free life.”

Abdul Waheed’s recovery is in your hands. With your kindness and generosity, he can undergo the surgery and continue carrying out his routine tasks without discomfort.

Abdul Waheed's Story

Abdul Waheed, a 60-year-old man from Lahore, had been suffering from persistent abdominal pain and swelling for the past two months. His condition gradually worsened, affecting his sleep and leaving him unable to carry out his daily tasks. Despite seeking medical help and receiving symptomatic treatment, his pain persisted without any signs of improvement. Determined to find the cause of his illness, Abdul Waheed consulted a specialist at a nearby hospital. After a thorough evaluation, he was diagnosed with Sealed Intestinal Perforation. The doctor recommended an exploratory laparotomy with lavage and drainage. Without it, his condition could worsen and lead to life-threatening complications.

However, the financial burden of the surgery was beyond Abdul Waheed's reach. He lives in a modest home with his wife and four children. As the sole breadwinner, he works as a salesman at a garment shop, earning just PKR 40,000 per month. With this limited income, he struggles to manage household expenses and ensure his children’s well-being. Affording such a costly surgical procedure was simply not possible for him. During his time of need, Abdul Waheed turned to Transparent Hands for support. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.

On April 30, 2025, Abdul Waheed was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital. His surgery was performed successfully by Dr. Ahmed Fawad. Abdul Waheed recovered well and was discharged in stable condition on May 2, 2025.

Abdul Waheed described his happiness as follows: "The pain had taken over my life, and I feared for my future. After the surgery, I feel like a new person. I’ll never forget the kindness shown to me during my darkest time.”

After the successful surgery, Abdul Waheed is living a pain-free life and has resumed his work with new strength.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors whose generosity helped restore Abdul Waheed’s health and dignity.
