Muhammad Abu Huraira's Story

Muhammad Abu Huraira, a 1-year-old boy from Faisalabad, was born with hearing loss and spent the first year of his life in complete silence. He never responded to voices or familiar sounds, leaving his family worried and heartbroken. Determined to help their son, his parents received medical consultation. After a detailed evaluation and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL) and recommended a cochlear implant surgery. Huraira underwent cochlear implant surgery in April 2025 with the support of Transparent Hands. This surgery has opened the door to a new world of sounds for him. While he can now hear sounds, he cannot recognize different sounds and words. His doctor has strongly advised regular speech therapy sessions to help him identify sounds, develop speech, and learn to communicate effectively. However, his family can’t afford the treatment.

If Abu Huraira doesn’t receive speech therapy on time, he may stop making progress in learning how to speak. He may miss the crucial period for speech and language development. This may limit his ability to learn, interact socially, and lead a fulfilling life.

Abu Huraira lives in a modest household with his family. His father, a police constable, is the sole breadwinner and supports the entire family on a limited monthly salary. Though he works hard to manage daily household needs, the ongoing cost of speech therapy sessions is beyond their means. His family once again turned to Transparent Hands and asked for support. His parents said in despair:

“Abu Huraira can now hear the sounds, but he cannot speak. Without speech therapy, this precious gift will go to waste. We cannot afford these sessions. Kindly help our son learn to talk and connect with us.”

Your support can help Abu Huraira take the next crucial step in his treatment. Let’s stand together and ensure he receives the much-needed speech therapy to live a life full of words, meaning, and connection.
