Ambreen Needs a C-section for a Safe Childbirth

Ambreen Bakht's Story

Ambreen Bakht, a 26-year-old woman from Karachi, is approaching the end of her second pregnancy. This should be a time filled with hope and excitement, but Ambreen is weighed down by fear and financial hardships. She had previously undergone a C-section for childbirth. Now, due to medical reasons, her doctor has advised another C-section to ensure the safety of both the mother and child. However, the cost of the C-section is beyond her means.

Ambreen’s husband works as a shopkeeper and earns a modest income of PKR 20,000 per month. She lives in a joint family system in a home owned by her father-in-law. With utility bills of PKR 3,500 and the daily expenses of the household, the family is already under financial pressure. They do not have the means to afford the cost of the C-section surgery on their own.

If Ambreen does not undergo the required C-section, she and her baby may face serious complications. Given her history of a previous C-section, a normal delivery may cause uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, and fetal distress. 

The financial burden of the medical procedure has left her deeply worried about the future of her unborn child. Ambreen has now reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. She shared her emotional appeal with us as follows:

“My heart is filled with worry about my delivery. My husband works hard, but he can’t afford the surgery. Kindly help me bring my baby into this world safely. Your support would mean everything to me and my family.”
