Ameer Mavia's Story

Ameer Mavia awaits VSD Closure. Before you dwell on the painful details of Ameer Mavia’s ailment, know that your help can bring a huge change in his life. Therefore, we request you to kindly donate as much as you can and make a change in his life. Please be generous with your contributions for Ameer Mavia’s VSD Closure and save his heart.

Ameer Mavia, aged one, a resident of Mardan, has been enduring the pain since his birth. He was born with a congenital defect known as Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). His parents took him for a check-up. The doctor gave him symptomatic treatment but after some time the medicines stopped working. Over time, his condition worsened and an Angiography was performed. After further evaluation, the Cardiologists  advised Ameer to undergo Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) closure.

Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) closure surgery is a type of heart surgery. It’s done to close a hole between the left and right ventricles of the heart. But due to minimal financial resources, Ameer’s family couldn’t proceed with this surgery.

Ameer’s father is a labourer and the only caretaker of the family. He earns PKR. 10,000 a month which is merely enough to provide ration for a family of four. He cannot afford the hefty amount of this procedure. A neighbour told him about Transparent Hands and they have been connected with us. We verified and registered Ameer’s case. Ameer’s grief stricken mother told us that:

“My beloved son is hovering on the threshold of life and death. I cannot bear the sight of him suffering anymore. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please donate for my son’s surgery.”

Luckily now that Ameer Mavia has been connected and registered with Transparent Hands, we are determined to help him but that is not possible without your support. As Ameer Mavia awaits VSD Closure, we urge you to donate as much as you can for his surgery and save his heart.

Ameer Mavia's Story

Ameer Mavia, a one-year-old resident of Mardan, was suffering from shortness of breath on mild exertion since birth. Upon cardiac assessment, he was diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (VSD). He was advised by his cardiologist to undergo open-heart surgery for VSD closure. For this purpose, he was admitted to The University Of Lahore Teaching Hospital, where Dr. Faiz Rasool performed the open-heart surgery for VSD closure on 21.12.2021. After four days of hospital stay, Ameer Mavia was discharged in a satisfactory condition. The surgery was conducted with the support of the Pakistan Children Heart Foundation and other donors. A child who has had VSD closure requires lifelong care, an optimized lifestyle, and examinations by a cardiologist. Now he is beyond the initial stage of treatment and is looking forward to living life to its fullest.
