Ayat Needs Heart Surgery to Survive

Ayat Fatima's Story
Ayat Fatima, a 1-year-old girl from Gujranwala, is suffering from a serious congenital heart condition that affects her daily life. Since birth, she has experienced symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, and chest discomfort. Simple activities like crying, feeding, or attempting to play leave her breathless and weak. While children of her age are growing, laughing, and exploring the world, Ayat struggles just to breathe.
Worried about her deteriorating health, her parents took her to a local hospital for a check-up. After a thorough medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). These conditions prevent normal blood flow from her heart to her lungs and body. The doctor has advised VSD Closure and RVOT Repair to correct the abnormalities and ensure her survival.
Without timely surgical intervention, Ayat’s condition will worsen rapidly. She may face severe respiratory issues and eventually heart failure.
Unfortunately, Ayat’s family cannot afford the cost of this life-saving heart surgery. Her father holds a private job and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. He is the sole breadwinner, providing for his wife, Ayat, and her one sibling. They spend about PKR 3,000 on utility bills each month, and the remaining income is barely enough to cover food and basic necessities. Saving for such an expensive surgery is far beyond their reach. During this time of despair, her family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Her parents said in despair:
“It breaks our hearts to see Ayat struggle. As parents, we want to do everything to save her life, but we simply don’t have the means. We’re reaching out with hope in our hearts, asking for your kindness to help our daughter live a healthy life.”
Ayat’s life hangs in the balance. With your generous support, she can undergo the surgery and grow up healthy and strong.
