Basanti Ganga Ram's Story

Basanti Ganga Ram, a 27-year-old woman from Karachi, is 37 weeks pregnant and is about to bring a new life into this world. This should be a time of excitement and hope, but for Basanti, it is overshadowed by worry and fear. Having already undergone four C-sections in the past, she understands the critical importance of this surgery. Recently, after a medical examination, her doctor strongly recommended a C-section once again. Her doctor warned her of the risks involved in attempting a normal delivery. However, the cost of the C-section is out of her family’s reach.

Without the recommended surgery, Basanti may face life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, or even the loss of her baby.

Basanti belongs to an extremely underprivileged family. Her husband sells balloons, struggling each day to earn just PKR 400 to 500. This meager income barely covers their utility bills, food, and other living expenses. The family lives in a small hut with no access to basic comforts. Basanti’s two young daughters depend entirely on their parents, who are barely able to make ends meet. They are surviving in extreme poverty and the cost of the C-section is out of their financial capacity. Each passing day increases the risk to both her and her unborn child. During this time of need, Basanti contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Basanti said in despair:

“I’m scared every day, thinking about what would happen to me and my baby. We don’t even have enough money for proper food. I just want a safe delivery and a healthy baby, but I can’t do it alone. I request you to help me in undergoing the C-section.”

With your support, Basanti can safely deliver her baby and embrace motherhood once again.

Let us stand with Basanti during her time of need and give her the gift of safe childbirth and hope for a better future. Your donations can fill her home with happiness.

Basanti Ganga Ram's Story

Basanti Ganga Ram, a 27-year-old woman from Karachi, was anxiously awaiting the birth of her child. For most, this is a time of joy and anticipation. However, for Basanti, it was overshadowed by worry and fear. Having already undergone four C-sections in the past, she was well aware of the risks associated with childbirth. Due to her history, her gynecologist recommended another C-section to save both mother's and the baby’s lives. Attempting a normal delivery could have had dangerous consequences. However, the cost of the C-section was far beyond their means.

Basanti faced immense financial hardships. Her husband earns a meager income of just PKR 400 to 500 a day by selling balloons in the streets. This small amount is all they have to survive. It barely covers their utility bills, food, and other essential needs. The family lives in a humble hut with no proper access to basic facilities. Their two young daughters are entirely dependent on them, and the family struggles to make ends meet every day. Affording a life-saving surgical procedure seemed impossible. Duirng their time of need, Basanti and her family turned to Transparent Hands. Her case was registered, and thanks to the generous support of donors, her surgery was arranged.

On May 9, 2025, Basanti was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi, where her C-section was successfully performed by Dr. Samreen Zeeshan. She delivered a healthy baby boy and was discharged in stable condition on May 11, 2025.

With tears of joy, Basanti shared:

“With your support, I gave birth to my son. I was scared, knowing the risks and not having the money. However, your kindness gave me hope and saved my baby. I will never forget what you’ve done for us.”

Basanti has now returned home to her daughters and newborn son, feeling healthy and relieved. Her safe delivery and improved health were made possible by your compassion. Her entire family extends their heartfelt thanks for giving them this blessing during their time of greatest need.
