Change Muhammad Ilyas’s World With Cataract Surgery
Muhamamd Ilyas's Story
Meet Muhammad Ilyas, a 60-year-old man from Lahore, who is experiencing visual impairment. He has been facing blurry and dim vision for many years. Upon consultation with a doctor, Illyas was diagnosed with a Cataract in his right eye. The cataract has brought darkness into his life, impairing his ability to perform daily activities. His ability to navigate his surroundings is significantly compromised, leading to a reduced sense of independence. The doctor recommended right Phaco + IOL surgery to restore his vision.
Ilyas is currently unemployed and lives with his wife in a small rented house. His sons, who live separately, give him a meager amount from their incomes to spend on daily expenses. The family faces financial hardships and hardly makes ends meet. Illyas’s condition is taking a toll on his mental health. He avoids public spaces where he has to struggle to navigate his surroundings.
Ilays said in grief:
“I want to regain my clear sight and my ability to provide for my family. I feel helpless and frustrated as my condition has taken away my independence. I request you to help me, otherwise I will completely lose my vision. Please help me!”
Ilays misses the time when he could see his children’s faces, and walk around the home and street without any struggle.
