Shajeel Yousaf's Story

Shajeel Yousaf, a 36-year-old man from Gujranwala, has been struggling in silence due to a painful condition. He is suffering from a persistent infection in both ears. He went to a doctor, who performed a thorough examination and diagnosed Shajeel with moderate to severe hearing loss. Once a lively man, Shajeel now finds it difficult to engage in conversations and fulfill his responsibilities due to this condition. His doctor has advised him to use hearing aids to regain his ability to hear and communicate effectively. However, the cost of the hearing aids is beyond Shajeel’s reach.

If Shajeel doesn’t receive hearing aids, his condition may worsen over time. It may lead to complete hearing loss. He may continue facing communication barriers at work.

Shajeel lives in a rented house with his four family members. With their meager household income, they hardly cover the monthly house rent of PKR 22,000, and utility bills amounting to around PKR 10,000. With rising inflation and household expenses, there is barely anything left to save for medical needs. The family has no savings, and the cost of hearing aids is simply beyond their means.

With sad expressions, Shajeel said:

“Each day, I struggle to hear my colleagues, my family, and the world around me. It’s frustrating and painful. I just want to live a normal life again, without constantly asking others to repeat themselves. I can’t afford these hearing aids and need your support during this difficult time.”

Hearing aids would not only restore his ability to hear but also his dignity and peace of mind. Your generous contributions can bring back the sounds that he longs to hear.
