Abdullah Ahmed 's Story

“My son is barely five years old. He should be playing with friends, going to school, teasing his siblings and such activities which a little kid does. But my son is unable to do anything like this. He suffers through the pain, and he cannot even take care of his own hygiene. God gifted him to us, but we cannot even provide him the proper treatment. Please help us; I cannot bear to see my child in such pain.” – Abdullah’s father.

Abdullah Ahmed is suffering from Anorectal malformation since birth. He had his first surgery when he was only one day old. This surgery was a constructive surgery, and after the surgery Abdullah needed another surgery to complete the procedure. He was supposed to receive his second surgery a few months after his first one, but it’s been four years now and he still his surgery has not done yet.

Abdullah is suffering from abdominal cramps, severe pain, lose motions, and fever. He suffers from blisters in hot weather. He is unable to maintain his hygiene. He has two elder siblings, one is 5 ½ and the other is 6 ½ years old. Abdullah’s father is a gardener and only earns 14,000 PKR per month. Abdullah’s family lives hand to mouth, and are unable to afford his treatment.

After visiting several government hospitals for more than a hundred times, Abdullah’s family almost gave up hope until someone referred them to Transparent Hands. Now, Abdullah and his family are waiting for you to reach out and help him.

Abdullah Ahmed 's Story

Abdullah Ahmed 4 ½ years old boy was suffering from Anorectal Malformation (ARM) resulting in absent back passage - Imperforate Anus. His emergency colostomy was done after his birth to make temporary passage for stools. He was advised another surgery to construct his back passage at the normal site. His surgery was done in Akram Medical Complex on 13-09-19 by Dr. Naveed Haider and his Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty (PSARP) was done. He stayed for three days in hospital with good post-operative recovery and was discharged with follow-up advice.
