Aizaz Ullah's Story

‘Your son is suffering from a congenital heart defect and needs to undergo operation as soon as possible to survive’; these were the words of a doctor who was checking my baby when he was only 4 months old. I felt like my whole life has almost fallen apart. He was barely a few months old little chubby baby who always had a smile on his face. When people looked at him, he appeared healthy but nobody knew that his heart was giving up on him. We cannot imagine losing our baby, please help us.” – Aizazullah’s father

Aizazullah was only 4 months old when he was diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) – a defect in the ventricular septum, the wall dividing the left and right ventricles of the heart. Doctors advised an urgent open heart surgery, otherwise his disease could be life-threatening. His parents didn’t have sufficient funds to get him operated. They went to another hospital where a doctor provided him medications for pain relief.

One year has passed but this poor child is still waiting for a miracle to happen which could save his life. He is currently experiencing painful symptoms including cyanosis (his fingers, toes and lips turn blue when he cries), shortness of breath and chest pain. His parents have spent many sleepless nights to soothe him but surgery is the only solution to repair his heart defect.

Aizazullah’s father has visited many institutes but nobody offered any help. He works as a labourer and hardly earns around 15,000 rupees a month.

“I can’t afford the expensive surgical treatment of my son. For a poor man like me, it’s impossible to arrange such a huge amount even if I save for years. I don’t have anything to sell either which could help my son”, Aizazullah’s father

Eventually, his father came to know about Transparent Hands from a distant relative in their village and contacted the organization for help. Aizazullah is now scheduled for his open heart surgery in Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore.

Aizaz Ullah's Story

Azizullah 1 ½ year old had cyanosis and was unable to gain weight since birth. He was diagnosed with complex congenital heart disease - Tricuspid Atresia, ASD, VSD and severe PS. He was advised open heart surgery - CP shunt to improve his circulation. His surgery was done in Ittefaq Hospital on 19-07-19 by Dr. M Asim Khan. He had good post op recovery and was discharged with stable vitals and satisfactory condition after 4 days of hospital stay.
