Aswah Ihsan's Story

Behind the innocent face of this little girl lies an unimaginable fear. Aswah has been fighting a deadly cardiac disease. You can bring hope to Aswah and her family. We request you to donate and save Aswah’s heart. Please be generous with your contributions.

Aswah Ihsan, a seven-year-old resident of Mirpur Khas, has been enduring this pain since her birth. She was born with a congenital heart defect. Her parents took her for a check-up when she was just three months old. The doctor gave her symptomatic treatment and advised some tests to diagnose her illness. After the reports came out, Aswah was found to have been suffering from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) with right Double Chambered Ventricle. The cardiologist advised Aswah to undergo a Ventricular Septal Defect Closure surgery. Ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure surgery is a type of heart surgery. It’s done to close a hole between the left and right ventricles of the heart. But due to continuous delays from the hospitals, her parents could not secure a date for her surgery. Over time, her condition worsened. Due to financial constraints, Aswah’s family couldn’t pay for this surgery in private hospitals.

Aswah’s father is an Imam in a local masjid and he is the only caretaker of the family. He earns PKR 15,000 a month which is barely enough to support a family of five. He cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. A neighbor told him about Transparent hands and they have been connected with us. We verified and registered Aswah’s case. Aswah’s grief stricken mother told us that:

“My daughter is hanging between life and death. She is a bright, lively kid but she cannot participate in any of the fun activities at her school due to her illness. This breaks my heart. My daughter deserves to live like any other normal girl her age. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please donate for my daughter’s surgery.”

Now that Aswah Ihsan is registered with Transparent Hands, we are determined to help her. However, we won’t be able  to do so without your support. We urge you to donate and Save Aswah’s Heart.
