Ayesha Bibi's Story

“I want to give my daughter a life full of happiness and good health but I don’t know how can I do that? I’m unable to pay for her surgery. I cannot do anything to help her get rid of this painful illness and have a normal childhood.” – Ayesha’s Father

Ayesha is a 4.5 years old child who was born with an Imperforate Anus. Her disease was diagnosed after few days of birth and she had her colostomy done in a local hospital to give her a temporary relief by attaching a pouch for collecting faeces.

From then onwards, she is living in constant discomfort facing hygiene problem and skin rashes. She has no control over releasing stool due to the opening of colon on her abdomen. People in her neighborhood and other relatives avoid getting closer to her due to bad smell which is affecting her social life and childhood.

Her Primary Anterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty was done in the month of August last year with the help of Transparent Hands and now the doctors have given her a date for final Colostomy Closure surgery after which she will be able to use the toilet normally.

Ayesha’s father Ali Sher is a daily wage laborer earning about 9600 PKR per month. Within this meager income, he tries to fulfill all the necessities of his wife, 5 kids, his old mother and a sister. The whole family lives in a rented hut made of bricks and woods. In these circumstances, Ali does not have the money to pay for his daughter’s costly surgery.

Ayesha is scheduled for her colostomy closure in a few days at Akram Medical Complex after which, she’ll be able to live a normal life with dignity like other kids of her age.

Please come forward and donate generously for this girl’s surgery.
