Abdul Hameed's Story

Before you dive into the story, we want to let you know that Abdul Hameed is in a lot of pain right now. His financial situation is the only hurdle standing between him and the treatment he needs. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Abdul Hameed’s knee replacement.

For the last two years, Abdul Hameed has been suffering from Osteoarthritis involving both knees. Osteoarthritis is a condition that causes the cartilage in the knee joint to thin out. In consequence, the surfaces of the joint become roughened, thus creating friction. As a result, the movement becomes painful, and the joint becomes stiff. Due to this condition, Abdul Hameed is not able to get up or walk. Moreover, the pain has become unbearable for him.

To treat this, the orthopaedic surgeon has advised Abdul Hameed to undergo a total knee replacement surgery. It is a surgical procedure to replace the weight-bearing surfaces of the knee joint to relieve pain and disability. Previously, Transparent Hands arranged for his left knee replacement surgery. Now, he needs to undergo a knee replacement surgery for his right leg. While the knee replacement seems like an easy solution to all of Hameed’s problems, it is certainly not an accessible solution. Abdul Hameed cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery.

Due to his deteriorating health, he is not able to work. Thus, he is financially dependent on his son, who hardly earns PKR 25000 per month. With rent and other expenses, he is not able to afford the hefty cost of his father’s surgery.

“Two years ago, my father had to undergo surgery for a hernia. We are still paying the debt we took for it. In these circumstances, Transparent Hands is the only hope for us.” -Abdul Hameed’s son.

After a lot of distress, Abdul Hameed has requested Transparent Hands for help. We have assured him that we would arrange his surgery as soon as possible. Now, all we need is your help. Donate for Abdul Hameed’s knee replacement as much as you can.
