Abdul Sattar's Story

Before you dive into Abdul Sattar’s story, we want to let you know that Abdul Sattar is in a lot of pain right now. His financial situation is the only hurdle standing between him and the treatment he needs. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Abdul’s procedure.

Abdul Sattar, aged 50 years, a resident of Chakwal met with a road accident six months ago. His leg got fractured badly. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Then after his evaluation, the doctors diagnosed him with right Tibia and Fibula fracture. He was treated but his healing could not progress and resulted in the non-union of his fracture.

Tibia and fibula are the two long bones in the lower leg. The tibia is much thicker than the fibula. It is the main weight-bearing bone of the two. The doctor advised him to undergo an ORIF (open reduction with internal fixation) with bone grafting. In an open reduction with internal fixation (ORIF), fractured bones are reduced into normal anatomical position, then internally fixed (with rods, pins, plates, screws, wires, etc.) to ensure the fracture stays reduced and heals in alignment. In addition to ORIF, the doctors also advised him to undergo bone grafting. Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that uses the transplanted bone to repair and rebuild diseased or damaged bones.

While ORIF with bone grafting is the only possible solution to Abdul Sattar’s non-united fracture, Abdul Sattar cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery.

Due to his deteriorating health, he is not able to work. Thus, he is financially dependent on his relatives. With rent and a family of four members to feed, he is not able to afford the hefty cost of his surgery.

“It was not even in my worst nightmares that one day, a single mishap on the road will make me helpless like this. In these circumstances, working was not an option for me. I have all my hopes in Transparent Hands. I know they will help me.” –Abdul Sattar.

After a lot of distress, Abdul Sattar has requested Transparent Hands for help. We have assured him that we would arrange his surgery as soon as possible. Now, all we need is your help. Donate for Abdul’s procedure as much as you can.

Abdul Sattar, a 50-year-old resident of Chakwal, had a traffic accident. He was rushed to the local hospital where the doctors diagnosed him with a fractured right tibia/fibula. He was treated symptomatically by local doctors and discharged. However, his pain did not go away. Upon further consultation, he was diagnosed with non-union of the right Tibia and advised to undergo ORIF + Bone grafting. He was sent to Maryam Memorial Hospital on 08-01-2022 and Dr. M Mobushir performed the operation. He stayed in the hospital for three days and was discharged in satisfactory condition. Abdul Sattar has been cured now.
