Ten years ago, Abid Jamil met a horrific road accident on his way to work and sustained severe injuries and trauma. Consequently, he admitted himself to a public hospital for several days. Before his accident, Abid used to work in Pakistan Railways. Later, due to his limited mobility and continuous absence, his workplace terminated him. Now Abid spends his days making tea and answering on bells in an office.

Now at the age of 51, Abid Jamil has been feeling severe pain in his left hip. He ignored it for a few months. Gradually, the pain has increased to a point of no return. After a thorough check-up, the doctor has diagnosed it with AVN of the left femoral head. Avascular necrosis is the dead bone caused by the lack of blood supply. Now seeing his condition the doctor has recommended Abid Jamil to undergo a total hip replacement for his left hip. Hip replacement is a surgical procedure in which the surgeon replaces the hip joint with a prosthetic implant.

Raja Abid Jamil's Story

Raja Abid Jamil, aged 51 years, a resident of Rawalpindi suffered from severe pain in hip joints. Consequently, he had a restricted range of movement and could not bear weight or even walk properly. On medical consultation, he was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the left hip joint. The doctors advised total left hip replacement surgery. For this purpose he was admitted to Maryam Memorial Hospital where his surgery was performed by Dr. M. Mubashir on 01.02.2021. He stayed in the hospital for three days and was discharged in a stable condition.
