Allah Rakhi's Story

28-year-old Allah Rakhi is a doting mother to four angels and a hardworking housewife. Her husband is a rickshaw driver. Both of them want the best of everything for their children. That is why Rakhi’s husband spends his entire day picking up rides with the intent to earn as much money as possible so that they may be able to afford their children’s school fees along with the monthly expenditures. On the other hand, Rakhi takes care of their children and all the household chores.

About two years ago, she noticed a lump in the front of her neck. Initially, she decided to ignore it. But, later she started experiencing frequent episodes of pain in her throat. She also felt an increase in her heartbeat from time to time and sweat profusely. The lump grew in size as well. This caused Rakhi to panic and visit a local hospital. The doctors there advised multiple tests so that her condition could be accurately assessed. When the reports of the tests arrived, Rakhi was diagnosed with a condition called multinodular goiter. Her physician recommended a subtotal thyroidectomy as the only solution to her problem. In this surgical procedure, the surgeon removes the thyroid gland only leaving a small part of it for preservation of the thyroid function.

In her husband’s scarce salary of PKR 6000/month, their family cannot afford the surgery.

“I am a mother. My children are dependent on me for everything. How can I put my needs before them and spend our six months budget on my surgery? I will endure the pain but never be that selfish.” says Allah Rakhi

Rakhi’s condition is deteriorating day by day. She needs your urgent help. Therefore, do not think twice and donate for her subtotal thyroidectomy now.
