Amin Fatima's Story

Amin Fatima, a two-year-old resident of Kasur, had accidently burnt her right big toe while playing close to the fire. Fatima burnt her toe severely. She was rushed to a public hospital where she was treated with first aid. The doctor discharged her with symptomatic treatment. Upon re-consultation, she was diagnosed with Post Burn Contracture of the right big toe and Fatima was advised Contracture Release and Full Thickness Skin Grafting (FTSG). Full-thickness skin grafts are made up of epidermis and the whole thickness of the dermis. If FTSG is to be used, a piece of the skin will be harvested and cut into the correct size and shape to fit the wound.
Fatima’s father works as a daily wager and earns PKR 25,000 a month. They live in a rented house and with a family of six to provide for, it is impossible for Fatima’s father to be able to arrange the hefty amount for her procedure. Fatima’s father shared his distress with us in the following manner:
“My little child has been in pain since the burn and her ability to walk has deteriorated. I cannot do anything for her. Transparent Hands is my last hope. Please help.”

Amin Fatima's Story
Two-year-old Amin Fatima, a resident of Kasur, had been experiencing pain while walking. She had sustained burns on her right foot while playing close to the fire. She was taken to a local hospital and treated symptomatically. Sadly, she developed a contracture and disability in her right big toe. Amin Fatima’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands and got her registered. She was sent to Lahore Care Hospital on 23-02-2022 to get her Contracture Release and FTSG done by Dr. Imran Shehzad. She was kept in the hospital for two days and discharged in a stable condition.
