Donate for Ammar’s Tympanoplasty
Ammar Khursheed's Story
Ammar Khursheed is losing his sense of hearing and needs your help. Only you can unlock a healthy future for him. We urge you to donate for Ammar’s Tympanoplasty as much as you can without any delay.
Ammar, a 16-year-old resident of Karachi, has been suffering from decreasing hearing ability for the last four years. He was taken to an ENT specialist and the doctor ran some diagnostic tests. After the evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Ammar with Bilateral Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM). Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) results after perforation of tympanic membrane with persistent drainage from the middle ear for more than 2-6 weeks. To treat this condition, the doctor advised Aqeel to undergo a Bilateral Tympanoplasty as a lasting cure. Tympanoplasty is a surgery to repair the eardrum. The eardrum is a thin layer of tissue that vibrates in response to sound. This procedure is crucial for Aqeel to get better as his hearing ability is deteriorating drastically. Unfortunately, they cannot afford the cost of this operation.
Muhammad Ammar is a student and lives with his family of ten in a rented house. To support his family, his brother works as a daily wager and earns just enough to meet the basic needs of the family. With a family of ten to support, it is impossible for him to bear the expenses of this procedure. He shared with us:
“It has affected the most important years of my life. My hearing ability has decreased drastically, and it is also affecting me mentally.”
Now that Muhammad Ammar’s case is registered with Transparent Hands, we have promised to help him get cured. This will only be possible with your assistance. Hence, we urge you to donate for Ammar’s Tympanoplasty as much as you can and help him live a healthy future.
