Azmat Ullah's Story

14-year-old Azmat Ullah hails from the Lower Dir district of the country and suffers from congenital cardiac problems.  Because of the condition of his heart,  it has to work harder than usual. Initial symptoms that have indicated his condition include coughing and breathing problems. This is exactly what alarmed Azmat Ullah’s parents. ECHO test revealed what the doctor and parents feared the most – he had ventricular septal defect (VSD) that needed to be closed and his atrioventricular (AV) valve also needed repair.

While there is no denying the fact that Azmat Ullah’s life has been nothing but a tale of misery. There does exist a treatment that can put an end to Azmat’s misery.  Azmat has been recommended a surgical treatment called VSD closure and atrio-ventricular valve repair. The goal in this surgical procedure is to repair the congenital defects in Azmat’s heart. Alas, only if Azmat could manage this surgery!

You see, Azmat hails from a financially challenged family. The five-membered family has to make do with 18,000 PKR that Azmat’s father earns every month by labouring hard all day long. And while the father is cognizant of his son’s pain, the mere awareness of the tragedy is not doing any good to Azmat’s cause.

We thought the trouble was over for the family when I had my bypass surgery. But now, it feels like being caught in an even bigger dilemma, the shackles of a challenge that is too overwhelming for me. In fact, had it not been for the Transparent Hands, I would have lost the hope completely”

Azmat’s father has put a lot of hope in Transparent Hands, and we are not going to disappoint him. So, help us, help Azmat, by donating for his VSD closure + AV valve repair surgery NOW!

Azmat Ullah's Story

Azmat Ullah, aged 14 years, experienced breathlessness on mild exertion since childhood. On medical consultation, he was diagnosed with a congenital cardiac defect called ventricular septal defect (VSD) which refers to a hole in the heart. The physician recommended VSD closure through open-heart surgery.

For this reason, Azmat was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital Lahore and the surgery was performed by Dr. Mohammad Asim Khan on 15.02.2021. He stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Azmat feels much better after his surgery.
