When part of the intestines or other tissues stick out through a weak spot or tear in the abdominal muscles in the inguinal area, near the groin, it is a surgical condition. The doctor advised him to undergo an inguinal hernia repair. A suture material is used to reinforce the weakened abdominal muscles in order to repair an inguinal hernia.
