Dilhad Bibi, a 42-year-old resident of Upper Dir, has been suffering from pain in her legs for many years. She went to the local hospital, and the doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory medications. However, the pain and swelling in her legs increased with time. She revisited the hospital and the doctor diagnosed her with hip arthritis, which is cartilage damage in the hip joint. The doctor advised her to undergo a left Hip Arthroplasty. It is a surgical procedure to remove the diseased joint and replace it with durable prosthetic parts.

She lives in a small house with her husband and five children. Her son is responsible for handling all financial matters with his limited income of PKR 13,000. Her son is not financially stable enough to pay for the surgical expenses. She needs your donations to live a pain-free life. She said with teary eyes:

Dilhad Bibi's Story

Dilhad Bibi, a 42-year-old woman from Upper Dheer, KPK, belonged to a very poor family. Despite her financial struggles, she never lost hope and always sought ways to alleviate her chronic hip pain and swelling. After consultation with a doctor, she was diagnosed with bilateral avascular necrosis (AVN) of hip joint and advised to undergo left total hip replacement surgery. Despite her limited financial resources, Dilhad did not let her health condition deteriorate further. She approached Transparent Hands, for help.

With their support, Dilhad was able to undergo the life-changing surgery at Akbar Medical Complex on November 4th, 2022. The procedure was performed by a skilled surgeon, Dr. Khurrum Shehzad. Dilhad's surgery was a complete success, and she was discharged from the hospital on November 6th.

Dilhad Bibi can now walk without pain and live a normal life, Dilhad's transformation from a woman struggling with chronic hip pain to one leading a pain-free life is a true inspiration.
