Faiza, a 25-year-old resident of Karachi, has experienced recurrent ear infections, accompanied by persistent discharge from her ears since birth. These symptoms, commonly associated with Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM), greatly impacted her daily life and hindered her communication and learning abilities. Concerned about her deteriorating condition, Faiza sought medical help and visited a local hospital, where she underwent a comprehensive examination. After careful evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Faiza with CSOM, a chronic middle ear infection characterized by a perforated eardrum and discharge. To alleviate her symptoms and improve her hearing, the doctor recommended two surgical procedures: Tympanoplasty, aimed at repairing the perforated eardrum, and ossiculoplasty, which involves reconstructing the damaged middle ear bones (ossicles).

She lives with her husband and two other family members. She was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi, where Dr. Muhammad Paras performed her operations on 24-06-2023. She was discharged from the hospital after two days.
