Feroz Gul's Story

75-year-old Feroz Gul’s son had to take him to the nearest local hospital after he felt excruciating pain in his chest, late at night, four weeks ago. Feroz’s condition stabilized that day but the pain did not subside later on. So, he was referred to a cardiologist who conducted ECG and ECHO tests. After viewing the reports, the doctor further advised an angiography to understand the condition of blood vessels in Feroz’s heart. This came as a bad news, since he could not afford the procedure. On a friend’s suggestion, they consulted our office and we helped them in arranging funds for his angiography.

 Feroz’s angiography revealed that the blood supply to his heart is totally blocked and he needs an open heart surgery (CABG) on an urgent basis.

When you are living in a time, in which established thriving businesses are shutting down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, imagine being a labourer with an entire family to support. That is the unfortunate condition of Feroz’s son. He already finds it difficult to manage the household expenses in his monthly 12,000 PKR income. The news of his father’s ailment dropped like a bomb on him.

“I cannot sleep at night. We are already struggling financially. How will I pay for my father’s treatment? He fulfilled all our wishes when we were young. Now, it is my time to provide him the support that he needs. How can I let his condition deteriorate in front of my eyes? I wish I was the one who got sick instead of him”. – Feroz Gul’s son.
