Firdous Ijaz's Story

Before we explain the gory details of Firdous’s ailments, we want you to know that no medical jargon can explain the immense pain of Firdous. So please donate for Firdous’s subtotal thyroidectomy and help us ease her life.

For the last two years, Firdous was suffering from a lump in front of her neck, weight loss , increased heart beat, weakness and body aches. At first, these problems were mild, but their severity increased over time. The doctor advised her to get some tests. As per the reports, the doctor diagnosed her with a toxic MNG. Toxic MNG refers to the presence of multiple nodules in the thyroid gland these nodules are responsible for the imbalanced production of thyroid hormones which results in hyperthyroidism.

To treat this condition, the doctor has advised Firdous to take medicines for control of her disease followed by a subtotal thyroidectomy. Subtotal thyroidectomy is a surgical procedure in which the surgeon removes the majority of the thyroid gland. However, the surgeon leaves some part of the thyroid tissue to achieve a normal thyroid function.

While this surgery promises a painless life, unfortunately, Firdous cannot afford the hefty cost of the surgery. Firdous’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He works as a driver and hardly manages to make 18000 per month. With a family of 7 to take care of, it has become impossible for him to arrange for his wife’s surgery. He told us:

“I feel so helpless seeing my wife in pain. I wish I could do something for her. We are so distressed. Transparent Hands is our only hope.”

Finally, as a last resort, they have registered their case with Transparent Hands. We hope that with your help, we will be able to arrange free surgery for her. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Firdous’s subtotal thyroidectomy and ease her life.
