Syeda Ghulam Fiza, aged sixty, living in Lahore, has been enduring pain in her left kidney for the last two months. She went to a public hospital and was given symptomatic treatment. However, the treatment didn’t work quite well for her and over time, her pain worsened. She went for further evaluation after she could not bear the pain anymore. After running some tests and an Ultrasound scan, the Urologist diagnosed her with left renal stones. The doctor advised her to get a Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and left DJ Stent placement. PCNL is a technique used to remove certain stones in the kidney or upper ureter (the tube that drains urine from the kidney to the bladder) that are too large for other forms of stone treatment.
Ghulam Fiza and her husband live in the outskirts of the city where the basic medical facilities are not even available. Her husband is a daily wager and only hardly earns PKR. 5000-6000 and is the sole earner of the family. With a family of four to raise, it is impossible for him to be able to arrange the cost of his wife’s procedure. Fiza shared her pain with Transparent Hands in the following words:
“I have never really complained about my pain knowing our financial circumstances but the pain is not bearable anymore. I cripple with this pain and hardly can manage any chores. It is really affecting my everyday life in every way.”
Fortunately for Fiza, her case has been verified and registered with Transparent Hands and we are more than happy to assist her surgery. But, this will not be possible without your support and generosity. We request you to please donate for Ghulam Fiza’s kidney stones removal.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website.
